The Dean's 3 Count January 6th 2010

I hope all of our wonderful VWAA fans had an excellent holiday season. After a few weeks to enjoy family and rest up, your VWAA wrestlers are ready to bring you a very hot start to 2010 with Resolution Rumble. Looking at the current known roster I have some picks for who I think look like the guys to watch this year in VWAA.

1. Lamar Titan As you have probably read here before, I am very high on this young man. I still remember the first time he came in to the ring at Orland Park, brandishing a pair of nunchuks and acting like a wild child. I thought to myself “Who is this crazy kid?” Well the “kid” has matured, not just physically, but in skills, ability and attitude. He now looks not at how many moves he can use to hurt his opponent in a match, but in ring strategy and putting on the best match he can. His popularity among the fans has grown and now his matches and videos are some of the most anticipated and watched of anyone in the VWAA. He has a chance to cement his early legacy by winning the Circuit Championship its first Main Event slot at Manifest Destiny.

2. The Soul Touchaz Now why would I rate someone, in this case a group, that has not made it into the Rumble? In this case, experience speaks volumes. Not only do Marshe Rocket & C Red both have Vanguard experience, the entirety of the group have traveled not just in Chicago circles but across the country. They have taken on some of the best competition the US and other countries have to offer and have stood tall. They have to face a team that is an unknown in terms of working as a unit. I know Ali, Kash and Hughes quite well but I question if they have the cohesiveness necessary to beat these seasoned veterans who work together almost as one person.

3. Ivan Manson The “Mad Dog” proved in the very first Resolution Rumble, to use an old phrase, that you don’t have to be the biggest dog in the fight, just the smartest. He knows what it takes to win this match and having had a taste of wearing a VWAA title around his waist I am sure that the opportunity to be in the Main Event at Manifest Destiny to once again challenge for the VWAA Championship, or win his first Circuit Championship, completing his Grand Slam has got him pumped up.. In 2008 he was in for most of the way and held the record for most eliminations. Does he want to be in that same spot again or does he want an earlier or later spot. His reaction to his position will say a lot about where his mind is at.

Now a recent Frontline aired a very irate Johnny Wild being told he was not going to be in the Rumble and claiming he has never truly been eliminated from either of the two Rumbles. As many of you know, Wild blamed me for his eliminations which he says never happened. He has even eluded to me being the reason he's not in this year's Rumble. I welcome him, nay, challenge him to step into my shoes in attempting to officiate possibly the most chaotic referee experience of the year.

However, his real problem here is with President Flywheel, not me. How will Wild come into play? Will he seek revenge through the likes of Hunter Paine or Akuma Okoye? Who knows, all I can tell you is that as cold as it is outside, Oak Forest will be twice as hot inside. If you want to see one of the best starts to a calendar year ever, you need to be at Resolution Rumble Saturday night. I look forward to seeing you all there.
